The District Attorney’s Office is in need of an Attorney. The Attorney will be under the supervision of the District Attorney and will primarily handle felony cases of all types. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions; learn to take fingerprints; prepare and maintain simple records; deal effectively and firmly with prisoners; and ability to meet physical requirements of job. Must have satisfactorily completed a TSI test or a COMPASS test reading and comprehension exam with an 11th grade reading level as a part of the screening process. The applicant must complete the TSI test at the applicant’s expense and submit a copy of the test results with the initial application in order to be considered for the position. EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION: High school degree or GED; be able to pass a TSI test or a Compass test reading and comprehension exam with an 11th grade reading level; be able to pass the State of Texas TCLEOSE Jailer’s Exam and must have a valid Texas Driver’s license with an insurable driving record. SALARY: Non-Certified $16.00 p/h and Certified Jailer $17.41 p/h with excellent benefits. Twelve hour shifts; (7am-7pm, or 7pm-7am) Sunday thru Monday plus weekends and holidays.
