Job Info
The Ector County Election Office is in need of an Elections Administrator. The Elections Administrator will work under the supervision of the Elections Advisory Board. PRIMARY DUTIES: Plans, organizes, supervises and manages the activities of the Elections Office in compliance with applicable laws, ordinances, rules and regulations of elections and voter registration. Duties and responsibilities require knowledge of the election processes, programs and pertinent local, state, and federal laws, regulations and statues; development and administration of budgets, principles and techniques of personnel selection, training of election judges and workers, public sector contracting processes; and principles and techniques of public relations. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma, prefer Bachelor’s Degree or five (5) years experience in Elections Office. Management experience in elections office must have a valid Texas driver’s license with an insurable driving record. Requires the ability to read and interpret legal documents, Election Code, Voter registration documents, legislative documents and all state and federal prescribed forms and notices. A general knowledge of math calculations and percentages must be able to compose letters, memos, reports, applications and all other correspondence. Required to have good communication skills in dealing with the public, judges, candidates and election workers and expertise in dealing with the media, organization skills and attention to details are required. Prepare, monitor and administer the annual budget for department. Bilingual (Spanish language) would be helpful. SALARY: DOE plus excellent benefits. Work days & hours: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm except during elections, occasional weekends. The Ector County Post Sentence Monitoring Pre-Trial Service Department is in need of a Post Sentence Certified Officer. The Post Sentence Certified Officer will be under the direct supervision of the Post Sentence Monitoring Pre-Trial Services Director. PRIMARY DUTIES: The Post Sentence Certified Officer will conduct English and some Spanish interviews and intakes for both programs.
